John J. SanGiovanni is a math supervisor in Howard County, Maryland, where he leads math curriculum development, digital learning, assessment, and professional learning. John coordinates the mathematics leadership graduate program at McDaniel College. He is a national consultant and author of over two dozen books focused on teaching mathematics. John’s most recent co-authored book is Five to Thrive: Answers to Your Biggest Questions about Teaching Elementary Math, written with Susie Katt, Georgina Rivera, and Latendra Knighten. John is active in professional organizations, recently serving on the board of directors for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics (NCSM).
